I’m building a space where stories and art slow us down and help us understand who we are becoming. Let me tell you how I got here.
My name is John, and The Positive Pen came from a place I didn’t fully understand at first—the quiet moments, the heavy ones, the ones you don’t always talk about.
There were seasons in my life where things didn’t go as planned. Loss, setbacks, questions about identity… the kind of moments that either close you off or push you to finally be honest with yourself. I chose to write.
At first, it was just for me. A way to make sense of things. But the more I wrote, the more I realized these stories weren’t just mine. Other people saw themselves in them too.
That’s when The Positive Pen became more than writing—it became a place for soul work through story. And over time, that work expanded into The Pen Store—where those same stories began to take shape through art, books, and creative pieces meant to be felt in everyday life.
Now, I write about resilience, identity, faith, creativity, and the moments that shape us. Some stories stay here. Others grow into books, art, and larger projects beyond the page.
Each week through The Positive Pen: Soul & Stories, I share reflections meant to be felt, not rushed. And through The Positive Pen Podcast — Stories, Soul Work & Substack, those ideas become real, honest conversations with independent writers and artist walking their own path.
I’ve learned that this isn’t about chasing growth or numbers. It’s about telling the truth in a way that feels real—and trusting it will reach who it needs to reach.
If you’ve ever felt the weight of your own story, or the pull to understand it better… you’re not alone.
